Why do you need to replace a UV lamp?
This UV lamp may still appear to be working normally and emitting light, but can it really continue to be used? The answer is no.
In practice, UV lamp energy is emitted in several forms: ultraviolet wavelengths, visible light wavelengths, and infrared wavelengths. Ultraviolet radiation is invisible to the human eye and can only be measured with specialized instruments. The visible blue-violet light you see is not the source of disinfection energy. Infrared radiation is responsible for the heat generated during UV lamp operation.
Over time, the UV output of a lamp gradually decreases. Even after 9,000 hours of operation, the lamp may still emit a significant amount of UV radiation. However, once the UV output falls below the designed UV dose, it can no longer ensure safe drinking water treatment. Therefore, timely replacement of the UV lamp is essential.
Under normal operating conditions, a UV lamp should be replaced after one year or 9,000 hours of use, whichever comes first.
